On 30th March 2018, the Government of Mauritius and the Road Development Authority (RDA) launched the construction of the Grade Separated Junctions at Pont Fer/Jumbo/Dowlut roundabouts, as part of the Road Decongestion Programme. This multi-billion rupee mega project is critical to the main transport corridor in Mauritius to reduce congestion time and costs(currently estimated at 6 Billion MUR annually). The junction will be constructed seamlessly with the Metro Express project to form a multi-modal integrated system for the transport user.
