A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aiming to develop a framework of cooperation between the Road Development Authority (RDA) and the Korean Express Corporation (KEC) was signed, on Friday 23 February 2024, at the RDA Head Office, Blue Tower in Ebene, in the presence of the Minister of National Infrastructure and Community Development, Hon Mahendranath Sharma Hureeram.
The signatories were the Chairman of RDA, Mr Louis Joel Yves Jose Patron; the General Manager of RDA, Mr Nazeer Mowlabaccus; and the Chief Executive Officer of KEC, Mr Ham Jin Gyu.
In his address, Minister Hureeram highlighted that the MoU signed with KEC builds upon their existing partnership as consultants in the road decongestion programme in Mauritius. The latest project, a newly constructed bridge linking Coromandel and Soreze, marks the continuation of this collaboration, stated the Minister. He highlighted that the joint effort will now shift its focus towards the maintenance and training aspects.
