A new slip lane connecting C\u00f4te d\u2019Or Road (B48) to the M3 Motorway in the southbound direction is now operational, providing motorists with a more direct and efficient route towards Eb\u00e8ne.<\/p>

The Minister of National Infrastructure, Mr Govindranath Gunness, accompanied by Member of Parliament Mr Govinden Venkatasami, representatives of the Road Development Authority (RDA), and other stakeholders, participated in the official launch of the new slip lane this afternoon.<\/p>

Implemented by the RDA at a cost of approximately Rs 24 million, the project comprises a 460-metre-long slip lane with a 1.5-metre-wide shoulder, drainage infrastructure, road markings, traffic signage, safety fencing, guardrails, and solar-powered lighting.<\/p>

The new infrastructure is expected to reduce traffic queues along the B48, improve journey times, and enhance traffic circulation at the roundabout, particularly during peak hours. It will also help minimise potential vehicle conflict points and contribute to improved road safety.<\/p>

Minister Gunness highlighted the benefits of the project for motorists travelling from Quartier Militaire, Dubreuil, and Midlands, who will now have direct access to the M3 Motorway via the new slip lane. He indicated that the infrastructure is expected to contribute to a reduction of approximately 40 per cent in traffic congestion in the area.<\/p>

The Minister also highlighted the Hermitage Bypass, which provides an alternative route for motorists travelling from Belle Rive towards the M3 at C\u00f4te d\u2019Or.<\/p>

Mr Gunness further announced plans for a new slip lane in the Valentina area, as well as several other major road infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity and increasing road capacity in the region.<\/p>

These projects include the upgrading of C\u00f4te d\u2019Or Road (B48) between the M3 Motorway roundabout and the Hermitage Bypass; the extension of the Flic-en-Flac Bypass to connect Cascavelle with Avenue Kestrel; and the forthcoming inauguration of the Beauchamp Bridge at Bel Ombre.<\/p>

The Minister also referred to consultations held this afternoon in relation to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed M4 Motorway, which will link Forbach to Bel Air.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
