The construction of a slip lane on C\u00f4te d\u2019Or Road (B48) and the southbound section of Motorway M3 was officially launched today at C\u00f4te d\u2019Or by the Minister of National Infrastructure, Govindranath Gunness.<\/p>

The Junior Minister, Dhaneshwar Damry; the Chairman of the Road Development Authority, Vinay Koonjul; and other personalities were also present.<\/p>

In his address, Minister Gunness noted that the recently constructed Hermitage Bypass now provides an alternative route for motorists travelling from the south, Midlands, Belle Rive and surrounding regions towards Motorway M3 at C\u00f4te d\u2019Or. This has increased traffic along C\u00f4te d\u2019Or Road (B48), particularly during peak hours.<\/p>

He explained that the slip lane project, estimated at approximately Rs 24 million and scheduled for completion by the end of June 2026, will separate traffic exiting towards Eb\u00e8ne from vehicles continuing along B48 towards C\u00f4te d\u2019Or\/Moka and those heading north, thereby improving traffic flow in the area.<\/p>

Minister Gunness further indicated that a second phase of the project will involve the upgrading of B48 over approximately 900 metres, subject to the availability of funds.<\/p>

The works include site clearing; construction of a slip lane of about 450 metres in length and 3.5 metres in width with a 1.5-metre shoulder; upgrading and resurfacing of B48 near the M3 roundabout; relocation and protection of existing services; improvements to drainage and retaining structures; installation of road equipment such as carriageway markings, traffic signs, safety barriers and road lighting; as well as landscaping.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
