{"id":10053,"date":"2025-11-03T14:01:47","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T10:01:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rda.govmu.org\/rda\/?p=10053"},"modified":"2025-11-04T14:22:39","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T10:22:39","slug":"inauguration-of-la-vigie-la-brasserie-beaux-songes-link-road-phase-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rda.govmu.org\/rda\/?p=10053","title":{"rendered":"Inauguration of La Vigie \u2013 La Brasserie \u2013 Beaux Songes Link Road (Phase 2)"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"10053\" class=\"elementor elementor-10053\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-5e27ad11 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"5e27ad11\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-6cf2cc4c\" data-id=\"6cf2cc4c\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-648e365a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"648e365a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Minister of National Infrastructure and Community Development<strong>, Mr Govindranath Gunness<\/strong>, officially inaugurated <strong>Phase 2 of the La Vigie \u2013 La Brasserie \u2013 Beaux Songes Link Road Project<\/strong> on <strong>Thursday, 30 October 2025<\/strong>, at <strong>La Marie<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The road was subsequently opened to road users on <strong>Friday, 31 October 2025<\/strong>, as from <strong>10:30 hrs<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Financial Services and Economic Planning<strong>, Dr Jyoti Jeetun<\/strong>; the Minister of Arts and Culture<strong>, Mr Mahendra Gondeea<\/strong>; the Junior Minister of Local Government<strong>, Mr Fawzi Allymun<\/strong>; the Government Chief Whip<strong>, Mrs Stephanie Anquetil<\/strong>; and other distinguished guests and personalities.<\/p><p><strong>A Milestone in Road Connectivity<\/strong><\/p><p>In his keynote address, Minister Gunness underscored the strategic importance of <strong>Phase 2 of the La Vigie \u2013 La Brasserie \u2013 Beaux Songes Link Road <\/strong>project, highlighting its vital role in easing traffic congestion and improving accessibility from the southern regions of the island towards <strong>Beaux Songes<\/strong> and neighbouring localities.<\/p><p>Implemented under the supervision of the <strong>Road Development Authority (RDA)<\/strong>, this major infrastructure project forms part of the Government\u2019s broader vision to modernise the national road network and promote safer, more efficient travel across Mauritius.<\/p><p>With an investment of approximately <strong>Rs 1.5 billion<\/strong>, the project extends over <strong>9.5 kilometres<\/strong>, linking <strong>La Marie Road (B102)<\/strong> through <strong>Henrietta<\/strong> and <strong>Holyrood<\/strong>, and ending at <strong>Pierrefonds<\/strong>. The new corridor establishes a crucial connection between the <strong>Palma Road (B2)<\/strong> and the <strong>Phoenix\u2013Beaux Songes Road (B130)<\/strong>, thereby facilitating smoother traffic flow and improving accessibility to the regions of <strong>Palma<\/strong>, <strong>Bassin<\/strong>, and <strong>Solferino<\/strong>.<\/p><p>It is also to be added that the Flic en Flac bypass which forms part of the link from La Vigie to Flic en Flac is under construction and is expected to be completed by end of Year 2025.<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Minister\u2019s Remarks<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><em>\u201cThe completion of this new phase marks another significant milestone in our national infrastructure development.
